Saturday morning we just played. Josie still loves to turn the pages herself. She chatters and prattles non-stop, repeats most sounds, says "Hi!" to everyone, sings "Ee-eye-ee-eye-o" in response to "Old MacDonald Had a Farm," calls Jonathan, "DaDa," makes the Ingall noise by scratching her soft palate with her tongue (although to be fair, Betsy does this, too), and makes Andy-type "mmmmmm" noises when eating something she likes. And she likes most things. And she does what Dr. Sheinin, my medical school dean and mentor used to tell us, "Look me in the eye!" She has a piercing and unflinching stare that bespeaks real human contact.

Saturday afternoon Marjorie and Jonathan and Josie took a walk into Newport, and at night, they went off to a party of Newport swingers while we babysat.
Sunday, we just played some more. Josie enjoyed some Rainer cherries (the best cherries, we all agreed, that we have ever eaten) and a plum. She particulary liked the plum because she could hold the whole thing, eat off it, and end up looking like Pigpen.
