Saturday morning, we went to shul with Neal and Andy. Alvan gave a four-handerchief sermon that was very moving, very much from the heart. Many people made it a point to come over to congratulate and welcome Neal and Andy. We picked up Bess, and were joined for lunch by Evie, Janet, and David, as well as Hannah Goldberg, a friend from Providence. Today was a turkey, which, as always, was so moissssstttttt...it just fell right off the bone. It's a wonder that it was able to walk up to the schochet to have its neck cut. Everything else was fabulous...stuffing, gravy, apple-plum compôte.

Andy and Neal took the afternoon train back to New York to prepare for having the Hoffmans over for dinner on the second day.
